THE RACE OF LIFE
The race of life is much like the one on the
speedway
We get caught up in all kinds of situations
every day.
The green flag is waved when our small heart
starts to beat
The checkered is waved when it’s time for our
Lord to meet.
Between those who flags we must run the race and
be strong
Even during times when everything seems to be
going wrong.
Sometimes we make it and sometimes we wreck
That’s why we need to keep our life and soul in
check.
Sometimes we get black flagged and end up
loosing a lap
It may seem wrong, totally unfair and we took a
bad rap.
But the Great Chief Steward in the sky knows the
deal
And we just have to trust Him with a faith that
is real.
Sometimes we mess up and break the rule
We end up feeling like some kind of fool.
We can become a better person if we really try
And be ready for the final inspection in the
sky.
Sometimes when we loose, we don’t want to ever,
ever come back
Then we work on our attitude, and once again
return to the track.
The race of life is not easy and we have to keep
doing our best
When the Final Checkered Flag is waved, we want
to pass the test.
Victory lane is for those who finish first and
win the top prize
We must finish the race of life and do what’s
right in God’s eyes.
We must keep running every lap
No matter what set backs we may face.
We will be a real winner if we don’t quit
But go on to finish life’s race.
RACE DRIVERS PRAYER
Lord, we ask your blessing on the race we are
about
to begin and on the drivers who will challenge
each other on the speedway.
Watch over them and let them be enriched by the
challenge.
Ride with them and guide their hands and hearts.
Bring them each and everyone of them safely to
the
checkered flag as you guide us all in our
journey towards life’s checkered flag. Amen
